At December 8 regular sitting of the National Assembly, the item of the election for the member of the Audit Chamber. The Civil Contract Faction nominated Yeghishe Soghomonyan as a candidate for being elected in that post. The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gevorg Papoyan presented the candidate’s biography and working path.

Delivering his speech, Yeghishe Soghomonyan touched upon his ideas and events, and noted that they could improve the works of the Audit Chamber. “The Audit Chamber can objectively and effectively carry out the problems, if it is independent from the structure being subjected to audit and protected from external influence,” the candidate believes. According to him, today there are things to do related to ensuring independence of the Audit Chamber.

Let us note that pursuant to the constitutional law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the member of the Audit Chamber is elected by secret ballot.
